The Computerization of Building Confirmation System
by Shunya Susuki in 1985
In building confirmation services, a computer confirms a part judged objectively, and building official confirms the part which a computer cannot judge. This system consists of two phases. The first phase is for designers. The second phase is for the building official. First we should develop a check program for a designer and the building official which can be handled with a cheap PC (a personal computer).
In the first phase, a designer inputs a plan into PC so that the check program for designers can confirm whether the plan meet The Building Standard Law of Japan. If it is OK, the designer can file for a application for confirmation with the building official.
Meanwhile, in the second phase, the building official takes a look at the result of the check program for designers. If it is OK, the building official checks the plan by a check program for administration again. This is a special program developed for the building official which focus on the check of the point to decrease input trouble of the building official. Building official judges the plan about the matter which a check program for building official cannot judge. The following is the flow chart.
