The streets are covered by green roofs of the plane trees during spring and autumn. The "green roofs" alleviate the severe heat in summer in Nanjing, which is known for being one of the three hottest areas in China (two other cities are Wuhan and Chongqing). Let me show you the vehicles running under the trees. (Pictures taken on 3rd and 4th December 2008)

I have introduced to you various electric two-wheeled vehicles that are actually being used in Nanjing, but as you can see a lot of them were quite worn out. In other words, it can be said that electric two-wheeled vehicles are used by the people in Nanjing for a long term and they have already become one of the means of eco-friendly transportation for citizens.
